Nordic Walking is for Everyone.

If you can walk - you can do Nordic Walking!

Nordic walking is a simple, non-competitve walk in the fresh air made highly effective by adding poles and clever technique. Whether you want to shed a few pounds, increase your fitness, protect your joints or simply have a fun sociable walk, Nordic walking ticks all the boxes.

Nordic Walking helps to lose weight.

It is 45% more effective than regular walking.

When you do Nordic Walking, your neck, shoulders, arms, chest all  core muscles are involved as well as your hips and legs.  The walking poles propel you forwards helping you walk faster, raising your heart rate and increasing energy level. You can burn well over 400 calories per hour, much more than normal walking.

Nordic Walking strengthens the muscles/bones.

It works over 90% of your muscles.

Nodic Walking tones your legs, sculpts your arms, tightens your waist and core. Its weight bearing nature and the added resistance provided by the poles also helps improve bone health and strength.

Nordic Walking good for hips/joints.

It reduces the sheer and compression forces.

Nordic walking is a low impact exercise that increases muscle strength and produces less load on the joints. The use of poles while walking increases stability, strength and balance. As a result, pressure on the lower body and joints is eased. It is not just hips and knees, the lumber spine and ankles also benefit.

Nordic Walking strengthens

the lungs/heart.

It increases the heart rate and your lung capacity.

With increased lung capacity, you will breathe easier, and your lungs will stay healthier longer. Nordic Walking is very good for your heart. It reduces the chance of getting heart disease. Nordic walking gets your heart rate up to 33 beats per minute when walking on the flat surface.

Nordic Walking boosts circulation.

The rate at which blood is pumped around
the body is increased.

Nordic Walking encourages active moving feet, a full arm swing, and closing and opening the hands round the pole.  It boosts circulation, particularly the efficient return of blood back to the heart.

Nordic Walking makes you Happier.

It is a great group activity and very sociable.

Not only is Nordic Walking outdoors, it is also a social activity – a mood enhancer, wonderful stress buster, and friendship creator.  A walk outside increases the production of “happy” chemicals like serotonin and endorphin which improve our sense of wellbeing.  You’re literally and metaphorically moving forwards.

Nordic Walking is an adventure!

It is a gateway for great exploring.

Our Nordic Walking events are a perfect example – walking on the snow and ice in winter, exploring the intricate trails of different parks, going forward, not stopping even we have the fallen tree or a bit swampy area in front of us. Not every sport suits everyone but walking is hard-wired into our DNA and Nordic Walking adds a mighty turbo-boost! Join Us!
